Castle Recap

Castle Recap “Hell Hath No Fury” 3/30/09
This week Detective Kate Beckett (along with author Richard Castle) investigated the murder of a congressman, Jeff Horn, which took place in the middle of election week. Horn was found shot in the head and rolled up in a rug; the design of which was custom made for the hotels of a Mr. Calvin Creason. Calvin Creason is shown to be a very pompous, arrogant rich man who was out partying the night before. However, he insists that he does NOT have motive to kill the congressman, because he knew for a fact that Horn was not going to win the election. The investigation then turned to a Mr. Frank Nesbit. Horn’s opponent during the election. Nesbit hired a Private Investigator to dig up the dirt on Horn, wanting to have leverage over the man. The findings themselves were shocking. Horn was having an affair with a woman. One who…offered her services to men. Nesbit never released the pictures to the public, and claimed that if he did now, the congressman’s wife would receive even more sympathy, which wouldn’t be good for him since she was taking her husbands place in the election. The investigation turns to the P.I, and our duo figures out that Kirby (P.I) realized that he could make money off of Horn by blackmailing him with the photos, so he asked for 250,000 dollars which he was to receive the day of the murder. However, it turns out that Laurie knew of the affair after all. The end of the case, however, is one that confused me. I’m not sure whether Laurie Horn was the murderer (or had a part to play in the murder), or what the story with Nesbit (who got arrested) is. If anyone can clear that up, please do so.
During all this, Castle’s latest book is being released. According to Martha Rogers (a.k.a Mother), the book isn’t selling too well, and the reviews aren’t great. However, in a nice little family moment, Alexis (the daughter) shows him a very positive review and tells her dad that she’s proud of him.
There were many little Castle/Beckett moments in this episode. One was in the car scene when Castle was telling her what attributes of hers his character will have. Some mentioned were that the character will be smart, good at her job…and he also mentioned slutty. The other good C/B moment is when Beckett comes to Castle’s book reading in a very nice dress. We find out her “alter ego” is Nikki Heat (she protests to the name).
I love the fun, flirty banter between these two main characters, as well as the sense of family with Alexis and Martha. The relationship between Beckett and her unofficial “team” members is also great. And it all makes for good TV.
If I made any mistakes, please tell me and I will make the necessary corrections.
Here is a brief summary of next week’s episode (thanks to Wikipedia), “A Chill Goes Through Her Veins”, which you can catch at Monday at 10 on ABC: A woman found frozen at a construction site leads Beckett and Castle to reopen a cold case. The probe into the victim's past stirs up unpleasant memories for Beckett, which provides Castle with new book material.
Until later,

Eleventh Hour is one of the shows that Bryn and I (Mila) obviously follow. We love the show and its freaky science dynamic as well as our favorite new character, Felix Lee. However, the show lacks in the whole character-development department, and character interaction is limited. Don't get us wrong, we love Hood and his queer mannerisms, and Rachel with her tough FBI Agent facade...but at the end of the season, all we know is that Hood's wife (Maggie) died, Hood has a sister and a nephew...and that Felix's mom has a Yorkie. That's about it.

What's our point, you may ask?

Well, this Thursday at 10 o'clock on CBS is the season finale of Eleventh Hour, titled "Medea". This is the episode description according to titantvguide.com: Dr. Hood is the only one who believes a psychotic woman's claims that an FBI official stole her baby and is keeping her medicated as part of a cover-up.

Sounds pretty interesting. Anyway, after that the show will come back for Season 2 (Date Unknown) on it's new day, Sundays at 10. However, Bryn and will not join the other viewers for Season 2. One reason for this is because we have to be in bed at 9 for Bryn, and 10 for me. And I have ONE night to stay up, which I am using for Castle on Mondays. And the other reason is, of course, the lack of character development.

One thing I do like about this show is the consistency. You can start watching the show at any time in the season and know what's going on, and understand who's who.

We wish the show the best of luck on its season finale, and on all its upcoming seasons. We honestly hope it does well, and if we hear that it's getting good, we'll tune back in.

Please know that we aren't trying to discourage anyone from watching the show. The show in itself is amazing. We just have to make time for other things.

Criminal Minds Recap 3/25/09 'House on Fire'

The team travels to Royal, Tennesee to investigate a series of arsons which have escalalated into killing, the death toll being at thirty-one killed in a movie theatre hours before the BAU arrives. To keep the investigation from turning into a witch hunt, Garcia is responsible for finding the link between the victims and finding suspects without raising suspicions. Garcia, who likes to see only the good in people, is horrified to find the things people are hiding. The third fire destroys a bar and kills only five people, but is found to be the most important fire because the victims were chained inside. Eventually, the investigation leads to a Tommy Wheeler, who disappeared after the town turns its back on him because of the realtionship he had with his sister, Tina, who's fiancee was killed in the bar fire. Tina has gone missing and the team finds pictures of Tommy hidden among her things, as well as an invitation to a Spring Fling dance years ago that her and Tommy had attended together. This is where Tommy has taken his sister, trying to convince her that they are soul mates and belong together. Although he threatens to burn the whole town down, the team talks Tommy into letting his sister go and he is arrested. The episode ends with a touching scene between Hotch and Garcia, who was afraid the former would be angry with her for 'digging'. Hotch tells her she did a great job and even called her 'Penelope'.

This epsisode finally gave us a treat of Morgan/Garcia, which has been seriously lacking lately. He called her "Miss Smart and Sexy" and she replied with, "Cupcake, you know how much I love you and our witty banter, but..." He also listened to her rant and said "I'm sorry, Sweetheart," when he had to give her bad news. There was also one other scene in which he called her "baby". Hopefully this will bring us closer to what the old days were like, with constant pet names and fun flirting.

All in all, a great episode. Next week is a repeat, and the next new episode will air April 9th.

We know how busy actors/actresses are, but our dream would be to interview some of our favorites on here. Right now, our wish list is: David Boreanaz, Shemar Moore, Gary Sinise, Emily Deschanel, Micheala Conlin, Joshua Jackson, Anna Torv, Jasika Nicole and A.J. Cook. If you have any idea how to get any touch with these amazing people, please let us know.
